PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A fatal crash early Saturday morning in Philadelphia's Port Richmond neighborhood claimed the life of a 45-year-old woman and left two others injured.
Police say the collision happened around 2 a.m. near Aramingo Avenue and Tioga Street.
Investigators report that a pickup truck traveling at an unsafe speed on an ice-covered road lost control, crossed into oncoming traffic, and struck a sedan head-on.
The impact forced the sedan across a grass median before it came to rest against the Aldi grocery store.
The driver of the sedan, a 45-year-old woman, was rushed to the hospital but later died from her injuries. A 29-year-old female passenger in the sedan was hospitalized and is listed in stable condition.
The man driving the pickup truck was also taken to the hospital along with a 29-year-old woman who was a passenger in the truck. They are both in stable condition.
Police have not announced any arrests. The crash remains under investigation.
